This article is about applying your Instacart gift card to your account. For more information on using your gift card to pay for an order or Instacart+ membership, go to Pay with a gift card.

If you purchased or received a gift card before November 18, 2020, redeem it on an account that matches the email address where you received the gift card. If you don’t have an Instacart account, create one using the same email address to which that gift card was sent. Then follow the steps below to redeem. This gift card doesn’t cover the cost of service and delivery fees, tips, taxes, prescriptions or alcohol items.

If you purchased or received a gift card on or after November 18, 2020, through our new gift card landing page or through a third-party seller, follow the steps below to redeem. This gift card covers any costs associated with an Instacart order, such as items, including alcohol and prescriptions, tips, taxes, service fees, and delivery fees.

Note: At this time you can only purchase, send, and redeem gift cards within the same country in which you live. You also can’t transfer gift cards to another Instacart account.

To redeem a gift card with the Instacart app— 

  1. Sign up for Instacart or log into your existing account.
  2. Tap the Account icon.
  3. Tap Credits, promos & gift cards.
  4. Tap Add promo or gift card.
  5. Enter the code and tap Add to Account.

To redeem a gift card through the Instacart website—

  1. At the top left, click the 3 horizontal lines.
  2. Click Add Promo or Gift Card.
  3. Enter the code and click Add to account.

The gift card then adds to your account and applies automatically to your next order.

After you place your next order, any remaining gift card balance adds to your account as an Instacart credit and is applied to your next order. Use of the gift card is subject to its terms and conditions (United States terms and conditions/Canada terms and conditions).

View your gift card balance

To view your gift card balance with the Instacart app—

  1. Tap the Account icon.
  2. Tap Credits, promos & gift cards.
  3. Look under Gift card credit.

To view your gift card balance on the Instacart website—

  1. At the top left, click the 3 horizontal lines.
  2. Click Account settings.
  3. Click Credits, promos & gift cards.
  4. Look under Gift card credit.
